Manassas Regional Airport (HEF) is the largest general aviation airport in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a critical aviation hub for the Washington, D.C. metro area. Until now, the airport’s online presence lived within the broader City of Manassas government website — a structure that made it difficult to highlight airport-specific services, deliver timely information, and support the airport’s growing operational needs.
With major updates on the horizon, the City partnered with Trivera to separate the airport into its own dedicated website on ConcreteCMS platform. The goal: create a modern, standalone digital experience tailored to pilots, travelers, tenants, and the community while laying the technical foundation for future feature expansion.
The Challenge
The previous airport website lacked the modern functionality and intuitive structure needed to support pilots, travelers, tenants, and community members. Key challenges included:
- Limited integration with airport systems and City of Manassas data
- A need for improved navigation, usability, and ADA-friendly design
- A hosting environment that needed increased security and scalability
Preparing the digital framework for expanded features expected in 2026-27, such as real-time parking, flight data, and more traveler-focused content.

Trivera designed a clean, accessible, and intuitive website that showcases Manassas Regional Airport’s services and strategic importance. The updated layout improves usability for all audiences including pilots, business travelers, vendors, and community members. Features such as language translation, weather integration, and important airport alerts were added.
We architected the site with future scalability in mind, which included developing a flexible structure for third-party parking integrations and ensuring that new functionality can be added seamlessly without redesigning the website later.
Additionally, given the airport’s critical operational role, hosting and security were key priorities. Trivera implemented a dedicated Cloud VPS hosting environment. This infrastructure ensures performance, scalability, and readiness for the airport’s future expansion.
