Eaton/Durant Case
Study
The Eaton Corporation is a Fortune 500 company with strengths four
industry-leading segments: Fluid Power, Industrial and Commercial
Controls, Truck and Automotive. The Durant Products division is
a leading supplier of industrial counters and controls that has
been in business since 1879. Durant manufactures a full range of
industrial controls, digital panel meters, production monitors,
process controls, and provides contract engineering and manufacturing
services for custom controls.
Strategy
Durant is a Trivera client partner who takes great
pride in the high quality and durability of their products. Exacting
corporate standards required the site redesign strictly adhered
to the strong continuity of the Eaton family of sites
Design and Technical
The corporate standards made the design part of
the project simple. Design direction, layout, color selections and
graphics were all determined by Eaton corporate. The challenge came
with the back-end functionality required for the site. A dealer
locator, e-commerce, a product search and a site search engine were
all necessary components of the site, and had to be built from the
ground up to run on Trivera’s hosting platform. Fortunately
Trivera’s staff of creative technologists was easily able
to design, develop, test and launch all the necessary functionality.
As Eaton’s corporate standards change, watch
for a re-engineering of the Durant site design and architecture.
